Arushi Kulshreshtha’s project transforms a forgotten corner of Vyner Street into a grassroots film studio—an architectural set that is itself about set-making. Working with the idea that storytelling is a form of spatial repair, Arushi reclaims a derelict garden near Regent’s Canal to support local creatives and aspiring filmmakers. Her proposal merges performance, production, and participation: flexible filming spaces, editing rooms, outdoor courtyards, and adaptive backdrops are arranged around a modular infrastructure made from upcycled film-set waste. Through a process of testing adaptable assemblies and mapping the lifecycle of cinematic materials, Arushi revealed how repair can be cyclical and creative, folding industrial refuse back into local imagination. The building doesn’t just support storytelling—it becomes a story itself, continuously edited, inhabited, and remade.
