Craft is survival. In Sally Sun’s project, repair begins with the hands of migrant women sewing together memory, identity, and livelihood. Situated in Limehouse on the grid of old industrial foundations, her proposal overlays a modular timber construction system that flexes to meet the spatial patterns of a local sewing collective. Offcuts become textiles; textile waste becomes acoustic baffles. Built atop leftover concrete slabs, the architecture stitches together production, education, and retail into one adaptable workshop and social space. Sally’s process was deeply observational—spending time with users, mapping movement, testing foldable wall systems. Repair here is soft, persistent, and quietly revolutionary.
