marginal gains

In a time when access to water is increasingly privatised, Elizabeth Bronstein’s project returns it to the public realm. Situated on a decommissioned water filtration site, her hydrotherapy centre invites residents and athletes to reconnect with water as a source of care and collective healing. Pools, steam rooms, and shaded rest zones unfold slowly in limewashed brick and reclaimed stone. Elizabeth’s process was immersive—mapping historical aquifers, conducting sensory testing, and researching communal bathing cultures. Repair here is elemental: a quiet reclamation of water as right, ritual, and shared resource.
