radical repair

Leo Cho begins with a child’s logic: if everything can be play, then everything can be reused. His project imagines a playground in Limehouse built entirely from upcycled materials—where bricks are made from crushed leaves and waste paper, and every detail invites discovery. Through a tactile and participatory process, Leo created a catalogue of recycled elements, prototyped at home and on-site. These components became stations for interaction—each one teaching children about material transformation through hands-on experience. Designed in collaboration with a local nursery and shaped by interviews with caretakers and children, the playground merges education and play. For Leo, repair isn’t just an environmental act—it’s pedagogical, joyful, and scaled for small hands and big imaginations.
